Privacy Policy

What we collect through this website, why, and what we do not do with it. Health information you share as a study participant is covered separately, under HIPAA.

Last updated: September 5, 2026

This policy explains what the Clinical Research Institute of Georgia (“CRIGA”, “we”, “us”) does with information collected through this website. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

The most important point first

This website policy is not our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices. If you enroll in a study, the health information created during that study is governed by HIPAA, by the authorization you sign, and by the informed consent document for that specific protocol — not by this page. Ask us for the Notice of Privacy Practices and we will give you a copy.

What we collect

Information you send us

If you fill in the pre-screening form or the contact form, we receive what you typed. Depending on the form, that is your first name, phone number, email address, the CNS and Psychiatric area you are interested in, and anything you chose to write in the free-text box.

You decide how much to put in that box. Please do not send detailed medical records, test results or documents through the website. Email is not a secure channel, and a phone call with a coordinator is both safer and more useful.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested. These are used to keep the site operating and secure.

This site does not use analytics, advertising pixels or third-party trackers. As of the date above it sets no cookies at all for visitors who are not logged in.

Fonts loaded from Google

Typefaces on this site are served by Google Fonts. Loading them means your browser contacts Google’s servers, and Google receives your IP address as part of that request. We do not send Google anything else, and we receive no data back about you.

What we use it for

  • To call or email you back about a study, when you asked us to.
  • To work out, in a preliminary way, whether a study may be a fit.
  • To keep the website working and to protect it from abuse.

We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to advertisers. We do not use it to build a marketing profile of you.

Who else sees it

Form submissions reach our study team and the email service that delivers them. Our website host and email provider process data on our behalf under their own agreements.

Information you send through this website is not shared with study sponsors as part of pre-screening. If you go on to enroll in a study, what is shared with the sponsor is described in that study’s consent form, and you decide whether to sign it.

We may disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect someone from harm.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a study are kept only as long as they are useful for following up, and are then deleted. Records connected to a clinical trial are kept for the periods required by FDA regulations and by the study sponsor — those periods are long, are set by regulation rather than by us, and are described in the consent form.

Your choices

  • Ask us what we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct it.
  • Ask us to delete a website enquiry, at any time, without giving a reason. Records that regulations require us to retain are the exception, and we will tell you plainly if that applies.
  • Ask us to stop contacting you.

Children

This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information through this site from anyone under 18. Studies that enroll minors do so through a separate, supervised consent process involving a parent or legal guardian.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and access to form submissions is restricted to the study team. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise — which is why we ask you not to send sensitive medical detail through the website.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top. Older versions are available on request.
